This shift has awakened older adults to the immense benefits of online learning and socialization. While most tech innovations often overlook older adults, GetSetUp is proud to be developing a solution that meets their needs, listens to their voices, and provides a user experience tailored to their specific challenges.
We have built a social learning platform that makes it easy for older adults to get online, learn new technologies, engage in mental enrichment activities, and stay socially connected. Recognizing that many older adults struggle with downloading and using new software, we designed GetSetUp to be accessible from any device with just a click.
A Platform Tailored for Older Adults
Our customized video platform is the first of its kind for older adults, eliminating the need to download Zoom to participate in programs and connect with peers. We've lowered barriers to entry through our frictionless interface, easy-to-use chat function, and by introducing older adults as our teachers. This creates a non-judgmental environment where peers can learn from each other.
GetSetUp’s recent partnership with Tivity Health (TVTY), the largest provider of physical fitness for older adults, highlights the holistic approach to aging that includes physical, mental, and social health. We're thrilled to be part of the mental enrichment offering through SilverSneakers to their 70+ Medicare Advantage Plan members, serving 18 million eligible older adults. The SilverSneakers + GetSetUp collaboration is revolutionizing healthy aging by providing comprehensive physical, mental, and social activities to help older adults live healthier, more active, and happier lives.
Changing Lives, One Learner at a Time
We hear daily from our learners about the positive impact our platform has had on their physical and mental health. Many share how it has empowered them and helped reduce social isolation. I've witnessed this transformation firsthand with my own parents. My mom, who rarely used to be online, now eagerly shares the classes she’s attending or leading. GetSetUp has brought us closer, despite the global pandemic and miles of distance. From miles away, I can participate in my mom’s cooking classes or see her proudly show off her favorite sari. My dad is also hosting his own classes and enjoying virtual events.
Expanding Globally, Impacting Locally
Since its launch 19 months ago, GetSetUp has experienced tremendous growth. We've gone from 0 to over 3 million older adults accessing our platform from 160 countries in less than two years. Starting with technology classes, our catalog has expanded to over 2,000 classes, including topics like healthy cooking, mental and physical fitness, virtual travel, and more. Older adults are joining GetSetUp not just to learn but to find a community that shares their interests, where they can become creators by hosting their own interest group discussions. Our Guides, who are older adults themselves, continuously build and improve curricula to ensure the best experience for learners. It’s been incredible to see the positive impact we’re making, not just in data and numbers but in personal testimonials and in the lives of my own parents.
GetSetUp has partnered with government, community, and health plan organizations in over 26 states to serve older adults in their local areas. We've also collaborated with leading senior care providers like BaptistCare and Whiddon in Australia, and Ashiana Housing in India. These partners work with GetSetUp to address critical factors for healthy aging, including reducing social isolation and increasing mental and physical activities essential for overall wellness.
