Senior Connection Center, a nonprofit serving older adults in Hillsborough, Manatee, Polk, Highlands, and Hardee counties, has partnered with GetSetUp, the largest and fastest-growing virtual social learning platform designed specifically for older adults. This partnership aims to bridge the digital divide and combat social isolation by providing 10,000 live, interactive classes to residents in these counties.
GetSetUp's customized platform offers a safe and supportive environment for older adults to learn, create, and share their knowledge. The platform addresses the social determinants of health by ensuring that older adults remain connected to the tools they need to thrive and age in place. From everyday technical skills to enrichment-focused courses on healthy cooking, virtual travel, and more, all classes are taught live by experts who are older adults themselves.
A Customized Learning Experience
GetSetUp's video learning interface is tailored to older adults of all tech levels, offering support through phone assistance and in-class help to ensure a smooth learning experience. The platform includes a booking system with regular reminders and after-class notes, making it easy for learners to stay engaged. With a catalog of over 3,000 classes that shift weekly, older adults in the Tampa Bay area can connect with a global community of over 4.4 million peers, all from the comfort and safety of their homes.

Combating Social Isolation
The partnership between Senior Connection Center and GetSetUp not only promotes digital literacy but also helps reduce social isolation, a leading cause of illness and death among older adults.
