Sheila, a Vermont resident, is currently training at Wonder Feet through the Associates for Training and Development (A4TD) program. Her true passions are in the creative Media and building her brand. She has several Social Media accounts and has a gained a large following/presence. She has a few networking outlets for her social media presence: she helps campaign being the t-shirt model for Dogman Encounters Radio’s merch clothing line and helps line up guests for “My Bigfoot Sighting” (podcast) and is one of the moderator’s for the My Bigfoot Sighting facebook page. Before A4td I took one of Peg TV’s  VIP Orientation course upon completion will be a volunteer independent producer. Which I mentioned an idea I wanted to do a paranormal tv show which I have some mediumship abilities and capture them on video (energies of my passed pets) I am able and have a lot of spirits around me which I pick up onto video regularly and want to do a show and Peg TV offers local residents that opportunity which I want to pick up where I left off for my goal is to learn Filmmaking/video production/podcasting and working towards needing a MacBook to be able to do all the necessary skills needed to be able to learn the skills needed for those industries and marketing, sales, and remote work.

Through A4TD’s partnership with GetSetUp, Sheila has been able to take classes that support her career growth.

“I’ve taken an entrepreneurship class and wellness courses along with whatever IT courses will be needed which I want to take some advanced IT courses."

Technology & Digital Skills for the Workforce

Sheila has always been comfortable with technology, but she knows keeping up with new trends is key to career success.

“A lot of the tech I already know, but I want to expand my knowledge in areas like iPhone use, business skills, and digital marketing,” she explained.

She’s also intrigued by AI and ChatGPT and wants to learn more about how these tools can enhance productivity and job performance.

“I’ve used ChatGPT before, but I’d love to take a deeper dive into how to use it effectively,” she said. “Cybersecurity is another big focus for me—I want to ensure my devices and personal information are safe.”

Beyond GetSetUp, Sheila is actively working on her resume to incorporate stronger keywords and refine her job search strategy.

“I have a LinkedIn account, and I’m looking into different job paths, especially remote work,” she said. “If I need to build on my skills, I know GetSetUp is a great place to do that.”

Exploring Interests Outside of Work with Vermont’s Support

While Sheila is focused on career development with A4TD, she also has access to other classes through the Vermont Association on Aging allowing her to take classes outside of work-related skills like some of the art and cooking classes.

“I love media and television production, and I even pitched a paranormal show to PEG TV,” she shared.

Sheila also has a strong presence on social media, running Facebook pages and helping with a podcast.

“I’d love to take more classes on social media marketing to grow my online presence,” she said.

Outside of tech and media, Sheila is passionate about learning new things and staying engaged

“I haven’t had as much time for classes since starting my training position, but I still look for ones that interest me,” she said. “I’ve found the GetSetUp classes are good and simple to follow, which makes them nice to take.”

Sheila is determined to continue learning and improving her skills through A4TD and GetSetUp. Whether it’s enhancing her resume, learning cybersecurity, or preparing for a remote job, she’s taking steps toward her future.

“I really appreciate the opportunities A4TD provides,” she said. “I’m always looking for ways to learn more and grow, and GetSetUp makes that possible. There are so many resources out there—you just have to invest in yourself and keep learning!”
