GetSetUp, a virtual social learning platform designed to empower older adults, has teamed up with the nationally acclaimed Beatles vs. Stones – A Musical Showdown to support Twyla Teitzel in achieving her lifelong dream. On July 30, Twyla will take the stage as a backup dancer for the Rolling Stones during their 80s hit “Miss You” at the Fox Performing Arts Center.

Twyla exemplifies the mission of GetSetUp, which supports over 4.6 million members in 160 countries.

"We work to empower our learners to explore and do amazing things," said Lawrence Kosick, President and Co-Founder of GetSetUp. "We are excited to help Twyla fulfill one of her bucket-list dreams. We love seeing our learners taking action to be healthy and follow their dreams while debunking ageism myths."

Twyla's desire to dance for the Rolling Stones has roots in her childhood.

"My mom wouldn’t let me buy Rolling Stones albums because she said the Stones used their money to buy drugs," Twyla shared. "So, I bought albums from the Beatles, Beach Boys, Supremes, and Monkees instead."

For over a decade, Beatles vs. Stones has delighted audiences with its unique musical showdown. The Rolling Stones tribute band, Jumping Jack Flash, will face off against the Beatles tribute band, Abbey Road. Joey Infante, who plays “Mick,” encouraged Twyla by saying, "Bring your best moves Twyla, let’s get this dance party started!"

About Beatles vs. Stones – A Musical Showdown:

This special performance highlights the two greatest rock 'n' roll bands of all time facing off in a once-in-a-lifetime show. Taking the side of the Fab Four is Abbey Road, one of the country’s top Beatles tribute bands. With brilliant musicianship and authentic costumes and gear, Abbey Road plays beloved songs spanning the Beatles' career. They engage in a musical “showdown” of the hits against premier Stones tribute band Jumping Jack Flash who offer a faithful rendition of the music and style of Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and the bad boys of the British Invasion.

Hailed as the most exciting Rolling Stones tribute band, Jumping Jack Flash has been receiving delighted acclaim from audiences all over the country for more than two decades. Joey Infante and his band bring to the stage the amazing energy and unmistakable enthusiasm that is the hallmark of a live Rolling Stones performance. Whether it's the passion and fury with which they deliver the blues-soaked, groove-driven rock anthems, it’s their attention to detail and nuance that makes the Jumping Jack Flash performance a truly awe-inspiring part of the show.

Utilizing the multi-instrumentalists at their disposal, Abbey Road re-create the songs in all their depth and glory with the studio overdubs that the Beatles themselves never performed live. They also touch on the deeper cuts that were seldom heard in concert. Abbey Road has amassed a strong national touring history and has honed their show to become one of the most musically and visually satisfying Beatle tribute acts in the world.

“If the British Invasion had a house band in the 60s and beyond, hopefully we’d be that band,” said Chris Paul Overall, who plays “Paul McCartney” in the show.

“There’s always a special feeling for these shows— people dress up in 60’s costumes, wear Beatles and Rolling Stones clothing, and enjoy one another’s company during the concerts,” said Infante.

The Beatles vs. Stones show has become a phenomenon, widely regarded as the world’s greatest tribute concert.
